Feb Mining Pool Review – Day 4

Daniel Hall 10th February 2018

Some interesting numbers today as I find out that Multipool doesn’t actually convert the coins to LTC for you, you have to do this manually. Bit of a drag, but it is what it is…… hey Nik StarPool hashing rate has almost doubled in the last 48Hours, any ideas on why?  post below   Click below for the daily results !Mining Pool Review – Comparison! !Mining Pool Review – Feb 2018 Day 4

Daniel Hall 9th February 2018

This month pools are looking close, and this review being slightly different as we have a Multipool that doesn’t convert the coins for you. Still not sure what the point of that is yet, but never mind. If you list the table below by LTC first we can see StarPool starting to take the lead with MultiPool (the non-converting pool) coming last. But wait, arrange the table by BTC value of all the coins mined so far and suddenly we have a new picture. The poll that was in the lead on the first day now drops to last place. […]

!Mining Pool Review – Feb 2018 Day 3

Daniel Hall 8th February 2018

Interesting day today, StarPool pull into the lead even though they had 2 hours of down time and Mining-Dutch kick in and start producing some good results. Also, I had a Tweet from MultiPool that explained we don’t do any autoexchange, your review seems to indicate that you think we do. So, would seem that they are a MultiPool that mines the most profitable coin, but doesn’t convert it for you. My miner is on port 7777 and it seems I am mining all sorts of alt coins (mainly GAME, LTC, XVG)  that I assumed would be converted to LTC at […]

!Mining Pool Review – Feb 2018 Day 2

Daniel Hall 7th February 2018

48 hours into the review and its time to see todays results. I am a little concerned about Multipool, there doesn’t seem to be much movement on the coins being mined and I still have a lot in altcoin that should have been moved to LTC by now. Based on this I have decided to look at the Pool speed and record this on each day also, a pool needs to have a good amount of miners or it just cant process the blocks very fast and so payments are far apart, a pool with lots of miners finds blocks quicker and […]

Feb Mining Pool Review – Day 2

Daniel Hall 7th February 2018

Another 48 Hours in Crypto world is a long time, we have seen nothing but green across the charts today and this is going to reflect in our mining profits. I realised this is going to skew our estimated profit numbers as I did yesterdays in $$$ and so I will be using BTC value rather then $$$ value. I think as a miner its always best to look at your return in coin first then the $$$ value. This way you get an idea of the ROI from the coin you have spent. IE A miner cost you 45 […]

!Mining Pool Review – Feb 2018 Day 1

Daniel Hall 6th February 2018

The first 24 hours are up and the results are in, its too early to tell if we are going to get a clear winner like we did on the Jan review but there is a pool showing some big gains over the others all ready. The reason I am saying we cant see a clear winner at the moment is that with multi-pool you mine the most profitable coin, this coin is then sold on one of the exchanges and the coin you wish to be paid in is then purchased, unless that coin is the most profitable to […]

Feb Mining Review Starts Today

Daniel Hall 5th February 2018

At 23:00 today this months mining pool review starts. We will be looking at 2 new pools I have never used before (as request by 2 readers) as well as 2 more experienced pools that always rank high in the reviews We will be aiming for 1LTC using a Bitmain L3+ running at standard speed of 504 MH/s.  Pools will be using there rotation algo’s and so can mine the most profitable coin at the time to give me maximum results in coin. As always ill try and post results each day and summarize once the first pool reaches 1LTC […]

HashFlare Fees Hit 40%

Daniel Hall 4th February 2018

On completing the weekly review of my mining contracts, pool pay outs and on-site miners I noticed the Maintenance fee on HashFlare have sky rocketed (no pun intended) over the pass few weeks due to the drop in BTC price. HashFlare SHA256 (Bitcoin) mining contracts have a maintenance fee associated with them to cover “energy consumption and human resources for the maintenance”. This is a fixed amount in $$$ at “0.0035 USD per every 10 GH/s of SHA-256 and 0.005 USD per every 1 MH/s of Scrypt per day” this doesn’t seem much but it soon adds up and will soon eat into […]
