New Bitmain L3+ Dec 21st -29th Arrive! New Shoot Out Coming Soon

Daniel Hall 29th December 2017

My miners I ordered direct from Bitmain on 9th November 2018 and paid in Bitcoin Cash arrived on 29th Dec, within the window they have given me.  As per my post about couriers I selected DHL as my courier of choice and they didn’t let me down. Information they provide is good and the online VAT payment smooth and faultless. For my Scrypt mining setup, this puts me at: 4,308 MH/s of Scrypt mining 7660 watts of electricity (15p Unit = £830 month) 0.68 LTC Day As normal I sell some of my coins each month to cover the costs and HODL the rest. Now […]

EHS Wolf Miner v Bitmain L3+ v INNOSILICON A4+ Compare

Daniel Hall 22nd December 2017

With the long awaited EHS miner almost here, Bitmain increasing prices from $1800 to $2700 and Innosilicon upping the order quantity from 3 to 10. Its been another crazy time for Crypto. But what miner is best value for money? How many MH/s do we get for our $ and what does it cost to run? Compare and Review the Stats last time I compared the L3+ with the A4+, the L3 won by a long way but this was mainly due to the $1800 price tag at the time, now they have put there prices up I think its looking […]

Price Dump but Don’t Panic

Daniel Hall 22nd December 2017

I woke this morning and as always the first thing I do is check the prices….. Ouch, that was an expensive drop over night and I felt like my favourite hamster just died. I am a long time HODLer of both BTC and LTC and I mine my own coin. I am not really a trader as I don’t have the time to invest watching the markets close enough to make the right calls at the right time. What I do know is that the past few years we have seen a  drop around the holiday periods. The professional traders do not want […]

Daniel Hall 1 Comment 22nd December 2017

So it would seem that not just the BTC Blockchain is slow at the moment. Coinbase sent me this email today on the day I was due my SEPA Euro payment Hi Daniel, We are reaching out regarding a SEPA withdrawal that you have recently requested. HashFlare Price Increase of 46.67%

Daniel Hall 20th December 2017

Hashflare recently increased the price of their 12 month cloud mining contracts. Last week (8th Dec 2017) they were $150 per TH/s for a SHA256 12 month contract This week (20th Dec 2017) they are $220 per TH/s for a SHA256 12 month contract This is a huge increase of 46.67%. I can only speculate this is due to a number of things: Increase in BTC Price Demand for cloud mining is high Backlog of tickets means more staff required They are a business and need to make profit Like any business they have over heads, staff to pay, expansions to build, power […]

158872 Unconfirmed BTC Transactions and Counting

Daniel Hall 16th December 2017

At the moment, according to https://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions there are almost 160k Unconfirmed transaction in the block chain! And  its been steadily increasing over the past few days This is almost 500 BTC in transaction fees sitting in the queue equalling a staggering   $9,750,000. And who said it was cheep to send BTC…… Well it still is really, when you compare to a SEPA transaction and it still is a whole lot faster than SEPA.  SEPA takes approx. 3 days and BTC about 6 hours at the moment so yes, its faster. What does this mean for us mortals that don’t understand the math?  […]

New 40 TH/s Hash Flare Contract gets me into trouble

Daniel Hall 5th December 2017

After running some numbers on ROI for the HashFlare  12 month Mining contracts, I decided it was worth investing into the platform.  With the wife asleep and BTC wallet syncing up it was time to do it. It would also be a good opportunity to run a HashFlare v Genesis Mining Shoot out The following day I break the news to the wife that I had spent $5600 on some cloud mining as we “needed it” because The Mine was at capacity with 8x Bitmain L3+ I received a lot of angry faces and abusive language until I explained the returns 40 TH/s for 0.4855 BTC […]

EHS Miner Update

Daniel Hall 1st December 2017

EHS updated their site today to reflect “Sales open in December 2017” and I received this email Dear Litecoiners, We announce that we managed to obtain the most efficient consumption for the Litecoin Miner at the design level. On the other hand, we continue focusing our efforts on reducing the chip size which will ultimately dictate the final price of our units. This last challenge is very complex. Several important decisions are now being considered and are determinant for the launch of the manufacturing. Many of you are interested in getting more details about our design. Please note that it is still […]
