Overclocking Bitmain L3+

OverClocking

Overclocking the Bitmain L3+ 504Mh/s Miner

Daniel Hall 16th January 2018

WARNING: Overclocking a Bitmain L3+ invalidates the 6 month warranty! But I am sure most of you all ready know that as Bitmain are always keen to remind you. But what is Overclocking all about and what does it do? Overclocking will increase the hashing power of the miner, sometimes up to a 20% increase, this would be running at around 600MH/s. This means if you overclocked 5 miners you essentially get a free miner. I have been Overclocking PC CPUs and GPU’s since the 486 days all the way up to the i7’s now. I have completed some crazy OC […]

Bitmain L3+ Pool Race to 0.01 BTC – Progress Update Day 5

Daniel Hall 6th January 2018

Day 5 and I think we can see the Dutch Boys (or girls, don’t know really) completing the race at some point on Day 7.  ProHashing and the rest of the field I think they will be more in the 5 range. This would mean MD beat the 2nd place pool by 3 days!!  Amazing result for DM and unless they have some major down time I think that is how the next few day will play out. If you would like any more info around settings or stats about this test please post below so I can include the data you […]

Comparing the Innosilicon A6 LTCMaster

Daniel Hall 6th January 2018

New INNOSILICON, is it really any better than the competition? Let’s forget about the ridicules 50 unit min order at the moment, or the fact Innosilicon don’t adjust the Crypto price in line with the market price at the time of sale, or the fact the LTC, BTC and $ price actually all work out different values or the fact its looks like 2x A4+ strapped together with some duct tape. let’s just compare the $ sale price and performance. I have compared just the scrypt miners that are currently available (you get what I mean) to buy now direct from manufacture. The $ value […]

Bitmain L3+ Pool Race to 0.01 BTC

Daniel Hall 1st January 2018

I am going to be putting 4 great Mining Pools “head 2 head” in a race to 0.01 BTC.  Ill be using 1x Bitmain L3+ (504MH/s of Scrypt Mining) on each Pool with a pay-out target of 0.01BTC. I estimate it will be between 8-12 Days but who will get there first? Who changes the least fees?  were going to find out over the coming days….. Bitmain-Ticket ID 314229 and a Hashing Board failed on my new miner!

Daniel Hall 30th December 2017

So, we have a failed hashing board on one of the new miners after just 1 day……….. As you can image I am not best pleased as this will now impact the Pool Shoot-out planned for 1st Jan. The miner started fine when plugged in yesterday but after doing my daily checks today, one of the new miner was reporting just 600w at the wall, this is a clear indication of an unhappy miner. I checked the configuration on my pool page and sure enough lots of rejected calculations coming from the miner in question. So I decided to hard reboot […]
