Bitmain-Ticket ID 314229 and a Hashing Board failed on my new miner!

So, we have a failed hashing board on one of the new miners after just 1 day……….. As you can image I am not best pleased as this will now impact the Pool Shoot-out planned for 1st Jan. Innosilicon A4+ LTCMaster has just been released at 620Mhs @ 750W and is a direct rival to Bitmain’s L3+ Compared to the Bitmain L3+ I don’t think its a great deal. Based on these figures it would take several months to pay off the LTCMaster with the extra cost for the extra MH/s. Amazing piece of Raspberry Pi software that came as an open source IMG download that was copied onto a SD card then loaded into the Pi. Came in a couple of flavours that I have personally used Mini Controla Used for the 5-chip gold heat sink units and supported the dual mining and multi-pool fail over. Support for multiple miners via USB daisy chain, watch out for low power USB hubs as these can create issues. Gridseed G-Blade – Fan Mod

The fan on the G-blade was noisy and made it difficult to chat in the same room. if you had a few of these unit in close proximity then you may find your self shouting to be heard. Fan mod time!! When changing fans always watch the temps very closely for the first few hours. you do not want your nice new miner overheating and burning out. Gridseed G-Blade – Heatsink Mod

The G-blade although a great unit suffered from overheating. Not from the mining chips but from the power control capacitors. If these units were to be over-clocked or placed in a warm environment it would not take to long for the board to burn and a cap to blow. The best thing to help this situation was with some off the shelf heat sinks from the local electronics store, or in my case some old cannibalized PCs!!
