!Mining Pool Review – Jan 2018 Day 2

Daniel Hall 3rd January 2018

48 Hour into the race to 0.01 BTC we can all ready see a gap appearing in the pay outs from the lead pool and the rest of the field. I do find it amazing that different pools can have such a vast pay out difference. When choosing your pool don’t just look at the published fees that the pools charge, they may seem low fees but if the scripts running the service and back end servers are not finely tuned this will be reflected in the pay-outs and the coin in your wallet. Make some comparisons yourself if you have more […]

Bitmain L3+ Pool Race to 0.01 BTC

Daniel Hall 1st January 2018

I am going to be putting 4 great Mining Pools “head 2 head” in a race to 0.01 BTC.  Ill be using 1x Bitmain L3+ (504MH/s of Scrypt Mining) on each Pool with a pay-out target of 0.01BTC. I estimate it will be between 8-12 Days but who will get there first? Who changes the least fees?  were going to find out over the coming days….. !Mining Pool Review – Comparison! Jan 2018

Daniel Hall 1st January 2018

1st day of the new year and what better way to start the year then a mining pool comparison? The Holiday period for coin trading has seen a drop in coin values so as miners we need to be making as much coin as possible from our rigs. Lets find out what pool will do that for us……. NiceHash – Recently back from a $63Million Hacking disaster, lets see if they are still as good as they say Mining Dutch – My Pool of choice since NiceHash went off line and has a great selection of coins to be paid in ProHashing […]

Bitmain-Ticket ID 314229 and a Hashing Board failed on my new miner!

Daniel Hall 30th December 2017

So, we have a failed hashing board on one of the new miners after just 1 day……….. As you can image I am not best pleased as this will now impact the Pool Shoot-out planned for 1st Jan. The miner started fine when plugged in yesterday but after doing my daily checks today, one of the new miner was reporting just 600w at the wall, this is a clear indication of an unhappy miner. I checked the configuration on my pool page and sure enough lots of rejected calculations coming from the miner in question. So I decided to hard reboot […]

New Bitmain L3+ Dec 21st -29th Arrive! New Shoot Out Coming Soon

Daniel Hall 29th December 2017

My miners I ordered direct from Bitmain on 9th November 2018 and paid in Bitcoin Cash arrived on 29th Dec, within the window they have given me.  As per my post about couriers I selected DHL as my courier of choice and they didn’t let me down. Information they provide is good and the online VAT payment smooth and faultless. For my Scrypt mining setup, this puts me at: 4,308 MH/s of Scrypt mining 7660 watts of electricity (15p Unit = £830 month) 0.68 LTC Day As normal I sell some of my coins each month to cover the costs and HODL the rest. Now […]

EHS Wolf Miner v Bitmain L3+ v INNOSILICON A4+ Compare

Daniel Hall 22nd December 2017

With the long awaited EHS miner almost here, Bitmain increasing prices from $1800 to $2700 and Innosilicon upping the order quantity from 3 to 10. Its been another crazy time for Crypto. But what miner is best value for money? How many MH/s do we get for our $ and what does it cost to run? Compare and Review the Stats last time I compared the L3+ with the A4+, the L3 won by a long way but this was mainly due to the $1800 price tag at the time, now they have put there prices up I think its looking […]

HashFlare Price Increase of 46.67%

Daniel Hall 20th December 2017

Hashflare recently increased the price of their 12 month cloud mining contracts. Last week (8th Dec 2017) they were $150 per TH/s for a SHA256 12 month contract This week (20th Dec 2017) they are $220 per TH/s for a SHA256 12 month contract This is a huge increase of 46.67%. I can only speculate this is due to a number of things: Increase in BTC Price Demand for cloud mining is high Backlog of tickets means more staff required They are a business and need to make profit Like any business they have over heads, staff to pay, expansions to build, power […]
